ZENN Motor Company Electric Cars

ZENN Electric Cars

Started in 1998 as Feel Good Cars Inc. by internet entrepreneur and professional photographer Ian Clifford, ZENN is an electric car company based in Toronto, Canada. Their first electric cars were conversions of the Renault Dauphine from an internal combustion engine to lead acid battery power. ZENN Motor Company is a publicly traded company under the ticker ZNNMF.PK, they are heavily invested in Texas based EEstor, a company looking to manufacture a revolutionary energy storage system for electric vehicles.

ZENN produces one NEV from it's factory in Saint-Jerome north of Montreal. In August 2004, ZMC signed a memorandum of understanding with Microcar SAS, a European manufacturer of a 2-door car that uses a small internal combustion engine. This was an in-production host car solution with updated technology and aesthetics that would appeal to a broader number of consumers. Development work using this host car platform, the MC2 (minus the power train) began a year later. Commercial shipments of the new car named the "ZENN" began in October 2006. The agreement between the two parties prevents ZMC from selling its products using this platform in the European Community along with Switzerland, Russia and a number of eastern European states. with their own electric power plant.

They have announced work on a highway capable electric vehicle called the cityZENN but it relies on EEstor's technology which is still theoretical.
