ZAP Electric Cars

ZAP, short for Zero Air Polution, is an electric car manufacturer based in Santa Rosa, California. They are a publicly held corporation under the ticker ZAAP. Along with their electric vehicle offerings, ZAP offers electric motors for bicycles and electric ATVs and scooters.

At one point ZAP was going to sell the Mercedes Smart car but after selling 300 of the vehicles Chrysler put a stop to it through legal action. ZAP announced plans to construct a manufacturing plant in Franklin, KY in late summer 2008 but in November the plans were put on hold.
