Wheego Electric Cars

Wheego Electric Cars

Wheego is the street car division of RTEV who also produces electric off road vehicles under the name Ruff & Tuff. Mike McQuary, former head of Mindspring/Earthlink and CEO of Brash Music, is the CEO of RTEV.

RTEV is a privately held company based in Atlanta, GA with distribution centers in South Carolina, Louisiana and California. The Ruff & Tuff offroad vehicles are already established so McQuary's primary focus will now be on the Wheego side.

To produce the Whip, RTEV is partnered with Shuanghuan Automobile Company. In the US the car will be produced as an NEV, for the rest of the world the car will be known as the E-Noble. It is actually capable of up to 60 mph (95 kph) but will be produced in China to meet the specific safety requirements of the target market.

The Wheego Whip is a new NEV from Wheego Electric Cars. It is a two seater, all electric vehicle with a steel unibody frame. As a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle it is speed limited to 25mph unless you are in a state that allows for Medium Speed Electric Vehciles in it's traffic laws. Then it can reach 35 mph. Safety features include DOT approved seatbelts, windshield and radial tires. Look for the Wheego on your neighborhood streets starting in July 2009.
