Peapod Mobility Electric Cars

Peapod Electric CarsPeapod Mobility, like GEM, is a subsidiary of Chrysler. They are currently creating a lineup of 3 Neighborhood Electric Vehicles. Due in the fall of 2009 is the Peapod from which the company derives it's name. They have also announced the Twinpod, a 2 seater version of the Peapod, and the Utilitypod which appears to be the Twinpod with a small pickup bed.

Peapod Electric Car

The Peapod is a Neighborhood Electric Vehicle street legal on roads with a speed limit or 35 mph or less. Peapod Mobility states that the Peapod is comprised of 95% recycled and recylable materials. It is a 4 door sedan for up to 4 people. There is a built in dock for an iPod/iPhne and you will even be able to start the vehicle by docking your phone or iPod in the future.

These went bye bye with the Chrysler Bankruptcy filing in 2010, only GEM models are the golf cart looking ones taken over by Polaris.
