Mitsubishi i-MiEV Electric Car

The i-MiEV is the first fully battery powered electric car from Mitsubishi. It is a 4 door, 4 passenger hatchback based on the tiny Japanese kei cars. The electric motor is mounted under the rear passenger seat giving a suprising amount of room in such a small vehicle. The i-MiEV is already on sale in Japan and a few are being used as fleet vehicles in the US. The vehicles currently in the US are Japanese models with right hand drive and they do not meet US safety standars so the car will have have to undergo some changes to be sold here. The current rumored price for the i-MiEV is around $30,000.
